2011 年 8 月 26 日，位於美國內華達州的專利控股公司 Innovus Prime 以 1 項專利侵權為由，控告樂金 (LG) 、東芝 (Toshiba) 以及松下 (Panasonic) 等多家廠商，包含各企業子公司在內共計 19 家公司名列被告清單，其中又以日韓廠商佔了多數，全案將由加州北部聯邦地院負責審理調查。
本案的系爭專利編號為 US5,280,350 ( Method and apparatus for processing a picture signal to increase the number of displayed television lines using motion vector compensated values) ，專利發明人為 Gerard DeHann 以及 Gerrit F. M. DePoortere 兩人，原專利權人屬荷商飛利浦 (Philip) 美國分公司，並經由多次專利權移轉予 Innovus Prime ，主要涉及影像解交錯技術訴訟，因此本次的系爭產品大部分也以電視和投影機等播放顯示產品為主。
事實上，本次的系爭專利是於 1994 年的 1 月 18 日通過審核，根據美國專利法的規定，於 1995 年 6 月 8 日之前通過審核的專利其有效期限為專利通過審核獲准後的 17 年為限，而專利 350 早已在今年 (2011) 的 1 月 18 日就已經到期，但是就算專利本身已經過期，美國專利法還是賦予每個專利能追溯自提起訴訟日前 6 年的侵權行為，因此在法律上本次的訴訟案還是成立的。
除此系爭專利之外， Innovus Prime 更是在今年 4 月獲得來自泰鼎微系統 (Trident Microsystems) 的 5 項顯示器相關專利移轉，並且原始專利權都屬於荷商飛利浦 (Philip) 公司。 (502 字；表 1)
