2012 年 3 月 22 日，以研發授權雲端服務相關技術為主要業務的 Titanide Ventures, LLC 公司，在美國東德州聯邦地院 （ U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas ）提 起四起專利侵權告訴，分別控告 Google 、 Yahoo 、 Hewlett-Packard 、 Box 等業者所提供之雲端儲存服務，例如 Google Storage 、 Yahoo Flickr 、 HP Network Storage Systems 、 Box Filing Sharing Service 等，侵犯其所持有、由電腦工程師 Mitch Prust 所發明之存取遠端儲存資料相關技術的專利權利。
該四起告訴共同涉及之專利有兩項：一為美國專利編號 US 6,714,968 ，名稱為「無間隙存取執行有多重存取介面之遠端儲存伺服器的方法與系統 （ Method and system for seamless access to a remote storage server utilizing multiple access interfaces executing on the remote server ） 」，另一則為美國專利編號 US 6,735,623 ，名稱為「存取遠端儲存區域之方法與系統（ Method and system for accessing a remote storage area ）」。而在針對 Google 以及 Box 所提起的告訴中，原告 Titanide Ventures 則另指控 Google Storage 與 Box Filing Sharing Service 等雲端服務侵犯其另一項專利權利，美國專利編號 US 6,952,724 ，名稱為「具備多重存取介面之網路遠端資料儲存系統（ Network-based remote data storage system having multiple access interfaces ）」。
前述三項專利技術均觸及目前雲端儲存服務之基本運作原則，亦即是藉由複數之儲存伺服器與儲存系統，提供消費者可以存取虛擬儲存區域之服務，進而進行遠端之資料檔案儲存。該三項專利權利一開始是在 2004 年至 2005 年間由其發明人 Mitchell Prust 所取得，而在 2009 年間， Mitchell Prust 以其個人名義，在美國東德州聯邦地院提起兩起專利侵權告訴，控告 Apple 公司與網站託管服務業者 SoftLayer Technologies 公司及其事業夥伴 NetMass 公司侵犯該三項專利權利，而前者案件以兩造合意撤銷告訴收場，後者案件則是達成和解。
律師事務所 The Lanier Law Firm 及公司創辦人也是律師 Christopher Banys ，一直受託擔任 Mitchell Prust 及 Titanide Ventures 的訴訟代理人，處理專利授權業務，維持合作關係。 (572 字；表 2)
