美日兩大玻璃製造廠Asahi Glass及公司控告Guardian Industries於2009年7月15日於美國Delaware聯邦法院提告，有關於玻璃基板和陶瓷層形成具有高折射率的透明薄氧化膜，主要用於Low-E Glass 產品、First Surface Mirror Glass產品。據其訴狀指出，被告Guardian侵犯了2件專利(US6334938、US6193856)，原告Asahi Glass公司請求法院給予被告永久禁制令(Permanent Injunction)及損害賠償，見表一。
日本Asahi Glass公司(旭硝子公司) ，是世界玻璃製品大廠之一，產品應用遍及平板玻璃、汽車玻璃、顯示器玻璃、化學品以及電子與能源產品等五大產業。Guardian總部在密西根州，也是世界玻璃製品大廠之一，主要產品是汽車和工業用的玻璃。
